The Fishing Has Been Excellent! BIG FISH

It has been an excellent two weeks of fishing! I have been busy this past week and have been on the water every morning and a few afternoons. The morning fishing has produced consistent action on both fly and spinning gear. The afternoon fishing has been more difficult, mostly related to the weather; high winds and rain. The fish of the week was on Thursday morning by Russ Landon, a 43” monster that he hooked on the fly. We knew it was big as soon as he set the hook and it immediately took him 100 yards into the backing.

On top of excellent fishing conditions, I was lucky enough to have multiple very experienced fly-fishermen on board throughout the week. Their experience and talent as casters enabled us to fish in various conditions and situations and increased the number of fish we brought to the boat. The mornings have produced large numbers of fish on fly. This morning, John and Bill who were in from Utah had a blast hooking multiple fish on poppers, both on fly and spin.  The fishing has been the most successful on the outgoing tide, but the fish seem to be holding in multiple areas throughout the harbor. Find some moving water and there are bound to be fish holding up in it.

I am fishing through Tuesday morning then I am away until Aug. 20th on my honeymoon. I hope to get some good bone fishing in while away. I have some good openings for when I return, so send me an email soon if interested.

           Tight Lines,
