Late June Fishing
28. June 2010 by admin.
6/28/10
The fishing in Boston Harbor has been great over the past few weeks. Weekdays have been best to avoid the crowds, but there are plenty of fish to be caught. Yesterday (Sunday) at 5:00 am it was just me and one other boat on the fish, but at 6:00, there were 40 boats there… Glad to see so many people enjoying the weather and spectacular fishing, but if you want to avoid crowds, try a weekday. I have been on the water almost every day for the past few weeks and have had some great charters. Most of my trips have been early morning and that has produced good numbers and sizable fish. Schools of stripers have been outside the inner harbor for a while now and are starting to make their way inside. Depending on the tide, we have also had great success finding rips and fish have been stacked up in many of them. My clients have had success with both fly and spinning rods, with the largest fish of the week being caught on fly. This past week also produced some great topwater action on both fly and spin. Yesterday, a crease fly produced mammoth strikes from some big fish. On spinning gear, a pencil popper or the new badonkadonk worked wonders.
I am looking forward to another great week of fishing. Get out there and FISH!!

Grouper meets Striper

6/17/10
The fishing continues to be great. There have been schools of fish all over the harbor, at all times of the day. The tide has been more important. If you have moving water there is bound to be some surface action somewhere. I have been out a lot this week and have found fish on the surface each day in different spots. Some of the schools have been on the smaller side, and some with big fish. On spinning gear it’s a weighted slug-go, flies it’s a half and half. we will see how the fish respond to the heat of the weekend.
I took Grouper out for her first fishing trip today! Found fish right away and they were on the smaller side, but fun. Grouper was not sure what to make of them but very interested! Also introduced her to lobster.

June 15, 2010
The fishing had been great over the past week. A new waive of fish have found their way into the harbor. Find them and some moving water and enjoy. Most fish have been in the 26-30” range, but some real big fish are in the mix.

Early June

June 9, 2010
There are some big fish to be caught out there. The evening bite has been good as long as the tide is moving. I will be out there most of the coming weekend so will report again on Monday.
A few pictures of fish caught this week.

May Fishing/Early June
7. June 2010 by admin.
May was a solid month of fishing and June has started off just as strong. Whether it is top water blitzes, structure fishing, shallow water flats, or rips, the fishing has been strong. There is a lot of bait in the harbor and some BIG fish. When the fish are not on the surface, the outgoing tide has been the most productive for me. We have found moving water around structure and the fish have been stacked up!
School finishes up this week and I will be on the water on a more consistent basis going forward. I hope to report more often in the next few weeks.
Hope to see you out on the water.
Tight Lines,
Captain Webb
